Fitness 4x4

Most fitness training methods focus on using the muscles of the lower body to improve cardiovascular fitness. Hiking, jogging, cycling and aerobics are all examples of cardiovascular exercise methods that place almost all of their demand on the large muscles of the lower body (legs). They are also the exercises that most people will turn to 'get fit', 'tone-up' or lose body fat. The question is, can you really get your whole body fit and vital by practising fitness methods which primarily only use only half the body's muscles ? Shouldn't the upper body muscles be involved in aerobic and fitness exercise in more than just a token manner, and is it truly necessary to separate cardio training and strength training?

More than 30 years ago, Dragan Radovic (founder of Fitness4x4 training method) began asking some of these important, but as yet unanswered, questions about fitness. He then spent the next three decades researching and discovering the answers first hand, through a personal exploration into the very core of fitness training. What determines total body fitness? Can it be measured in an objective way? Should the upper body be involved in CVfitness training? Is it possible to develop muscular strength through cardiovascular training? How can training be optimised to allow any individual to achieve peak fitness and vitality, regardless of their age? Aged 59 years of age and in his peak physical condition, Dragan's discoveries have evolved into the Fitness4x4 training method which is now taught in 3 continents and 8 countries worldwide.

Fitness 4x4 borrows its name from the world of motor vehicles. In the same way that a 4x4 vehicle sends power to all 4 wheels instead of 2, in Fitness 4x4 training both the arms and the legs are powered by the heart and lungs to achieve the most efficient and effective fitness training. Attaining optimum physical health and vitality for the whole body, with minimum time expended – that is the focus of Fitness4x4. The reality of physical experience, combined with an intellectual understanding of how the body works and what it takes to stay in good condition. Fitness4x4 seeks to provide you with that experience and with those answers.   The Hour of Power Workout ®, Endurance Lifting ®, Vertical Training ® and the Draganwalk ® are all methods of Fitness4x4 Training. We invite you to learn more, find which one suits you best, and begin your journey to discovering peak fitness at any age.

I do the hour of power, fitness 4x4 classes. I have never known a better fitness regime.

I have been training and playing rugby for 16 years. In less than 1 year Fitness 4x4 training my fitness, power and strength have all gone through the roof. I have had an injury free season and probably played my best rugby. I captained Old Belvedere to one of our most successful seasons ever. ( 3 trophies ).
